Szymański - 4-disc album DVD

The present 4-disc album contains a nearly complete recording of all the concerts held during the Festival of Paweł Szymański's Music, organised by Polish Audiovisual Publishers in co-operation with the Polish Radio between 24th November and 1st December 2006 in the Polish Radio Witold Lutosławski Concert Studio in Warsaw. The work of Paweł Szymański, one of Poland's most eminent composers of international renown, had not previously been presented to the Polish audience in a way which would reflect its true value and importance. The Festival's main task was to improve the public reception of this extraordinary phenomenon - Paweł Szymański's music. The reaction to Polish Audiovisual Publishers' Festival project, as expressed in press accounts and reviews, confirmed that the event had satisfied the general expectations and generated considerable interest.

This 4-disc audio-visual music documentary presenting eight Festival concerts in a recording by Lech Dudzik, Gabriela Blicharz (sound directors) and Mariusz Grzegorzek (director of cinematography) is likely to excite no less interest. DVD 1 opens with Paweł Szymański's nearly half-an-hour-long monologue, the artist's personal confession inspired by Mariusz Grzegorzek.
