The recording is part of the multimedia essay created by 20 household names in Polish culture and presented live on February 24th, 2017 during the NInA Finale. It was an event during which we looked back at the last decade in audiovisual culture, as well as the nearly 12-year-long history of the Institute (just days before the merger with the National Film Archive).
The online project highlights the richness of European contemporary music by tracing the stories of four eminent composers: Louis Andriessen, Pierre Boulez, Arvo Pärt and Kazimierz Serocki. Through accessible themes, quizzes and, most importantly, a wealth of music, MiM reaches out to a broad audience in a new and engaging way. At the same time users with a background in music will be able to discover interesting storylines as well as delightful footage.
The opera by Christoph Willibald Gluck, directed by Mariusz Treliński and recorded by NInA, is available for viewing online. The performance was recorded in 2009 at the Grand Theatre–National Opera in Warsaw.
Take part in a new, annual celebration of audiovisual culture! Its first edition will be dedicated to digital storytelling, emerging narrative strategies and archives seen from a different, very personal point of view. Apart from live music shows, film screenings, debates and media workshops for creatives, there will be an exhibition of interactive installations and webdocs, as well as a local art project and an audiovisual picnic.
