June 1, 2017 marks the beginning of operations for FINA (National Film Archive – Audiovisual Institute), a new cultural institution established by the merger of the National Film Archive and the National Audiovisual Institute. The mission of the newly-formed organization will entail the collection, cataloging, and digital restoration of audiovisual heritage as well as efforts to produce, record, and promote Polish audiovisual culture.
Our mission comes from our dreams. We want more spectacular films and theater performances. We want good music and art that breaks with convention. We want to participate in creating audiovisual culture and we want to share it with you in a convenient way and in high quality. Together, we want to listen to what lies ahead, discuss what happened in the past and, most importantly, take part in what’s going on here and now in the contemporary world.
