The biggest collection of works by Poland’s three masters: Witold Lutosławski, Henryk Mikołaj Górecki, and Krzysztof Penderecki. It comprises both widely known pieces and works that are nearly forgotten: grand performances and pieces of stage music, as well as scores written for movies, plays, and radio, even some popular tunes — totalling over 320 recordings and 380 descriptions.
Seven composers, seven musical pieces, seven preeminent orchestras and seven performances in HD, Blu-Ray and 3D formats. An original, audiophile box set of Polish contemporary music as interpreted by the world’s best performers.
An incredible conversation between top figures of the avant-garde world - Jonny Greenwood, Bryce Dessner, Beth Gibbons, and Aphex Twin - and pre-eminent contemporary Polish composers. The project was inaugurated with a joint performance by Penderecki and Greenwood at the European Culture Congress and has since spawned multiple new tracks, albums, and even a series of live shows.
Devoted entirely to the oeuvre of its namesake, the Paweł Szymański Music Festival was held in 2006 at the Witold Lutosławski Polish Radio Studio in Warsaw to an enthusiastic reception from the audience.
The recording is part of the multimedia essay created by 20 household names in Polish culture and presented live on February 24th, 2017 during the NInA Finale. It was an event during which we looked back at the last decade in audiovisual culture, as well as the nearly 12-year-long history of the Institute (just days before the merger with the National Film Archive).
Forget about YouTube and bittorrent. NINATEKA is a collection of over five thousand films, theater performances, concerts, radio programs and news programs available legally and for free wherever there’s an internet connection.
The online project highlights the richness of European contemporary music by tracing the stories of four eminent composers: Louis Andriessen, Pierre Boulez, Arvo Pärt and Kazimierz Serocki. Through accessible themes, quizzes and, most importantly, a wealth of music, MiM reaches out to a broad audience in a new and engaging way. At the same time users with a background in music will be able to discover interesting storylines as well as delightful footage.
