Rethink the Future of AV – FIAT/IFTA Conference
The main theme of the conference was: Rethink the Future of AV. Attendees and guests pondered the future of audiovisual archives and the possible directions in which they might develop in terms of the strategy of securing audiovisual heritage, new technologies, and new formats of audiovisual production which extend far beyond TV screens and provide audiences with individualized experiences – such as VR productions, or interactive content for mobile devices.
Keynotes at the conference were delivered by Tomasz Wasilewski (director of United States of Love, the winner of the Silver Bear for Best Screenplay at the Berlin International Film Festival), who spoke about drawing inspiration from archives, and Alexander Knetig (editor in chief at Arte Creative), who spoke about Arte’s strategy of working simultaneously to deliver linear TV and innovative online experiences.
The conference was held at NInA and the Copernicus Science Centre, while the FIAT/IFTA Archive Achievement Awards ceremony was held at the Palace of Culture and Science.
