From 5 August to 30 September in Białystok Journey to the East exhibition will be held, presenting most recent art form the Eastern Partnership countries: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Ukraine, Belarus and Moldova. Artists presenting their work include, inter alia: Chingiz Babayev, Sabina Shikhlinskaya and Rashad Alakbarov (Azerbaijan), Leyla Akhundzade and Zolyan Narine (Russia), Tigran Khachatryan, Raffie Davtian and Arman Grigoryan (Armenia).

On 1 July in Warsaw, the Polish presidency of the EU Council shall be officially inaugurated. The cultural programme of the inauguration has been planned as an all-day musical show, taking place on four specially prepared stages presenting various music genres. The repertoire includes: classical music, interdisciplinary projects for children, alternative and jazz music and music of national and ethnic minorities. The programme presents Polish artists in cooperation with European ones. 

From July up to September Katowice will also be vibrant with culture. This is where a six-week long interdisciplinary and interactive project TAKK! will take place, combining architecture, design and contemporary music. Katowice – Temporary Cultural Action.

On 3rd July in Sopot the Open Culture Spa will open and last until the end of the month. The intention of the project is to draw attention of recipients to attractive, but not fully discovered sides of this city. The concepts, to which organisers refer, include impact of culture on social change and the European Year of Volunteering celebrated in 2011. Under the Open Culture Spa project, a space will be created in Sopot for joint creation for artist and recipients of art.

The latest book by Professor Zygmunt Bauman, Culture in a Liquid Modern World, will be released on May 12, along with Krzysztof Rzączyński’s newest film Love Europe World of Zygmunt Bauman. The events mark the upcoming European Culture Congress, organized by the National Audiovisual Institute.
