14:15–15:30 “TREME” | Season 1 Episode 1
An HBO drama set in New Orleans in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. We follow the citizens of New Orleans as they try to rebuild their lives and their city following the disaster. The city is famed for its rich musical heritage and its tradition of second line parades, which inspired our own neighborhood parade. The pilot episode, directed by Agnieszka Holland, was nominated for an Emmy Award in 2010.
12:00–14:30 The Prettiest Umbrella at the Parade
You can’t have a parade without an orchestra… nor without umbrellas! Join us in the NInA Courtyard, where you’ll get a colorful umbrella, tassels, and decorative feathers. Together we’ll make original props worthy of a New Orleans parade, as seen on “Treme”! Workshop and parade participants will take part in a contest for the prettiest umbrella.
15:45–17:30 I LOVE SŁUŻEW | Neighborhood parade
The nearly 60-piece Grandioso Youth Orchestra from Radom will conduct an hourlong dance-filled parade through the streets of Służew, inspired by the New Orleansbased series “Treme”.
