NInA at the FIAT/IFTA World Conference

Delegates from the National Audiovisual Institute (director Michał Merczyński, Monika Bończa-Tomaszewska, Agnieszka Wolak, Maria Drabczyk and Agata Kołacz) represented NInA at the annual FIAT/IFTA World Conference, held this year in Vienna on October 7–10.
from: WED   07 / 10 / 2015
to: SAT   10 / 10 / 2015

We have been a member of FIAT/IFTA since 2010. In 2012 in London we shared our model for collaborating with public broadcasters, while in 2013 in Dubai we presented the idea behind Three Composers, the website nominated for The Most Innovative Use of Archive one year later.

This year we spoke to an international audience about how opening up to the public has helped change NInA. Director Michał Merczyński will appear in the "Culture and the Citizen" panel, moderated by Daniel Teruggi from INA with a presentation titled “NInA: Where Culture Meets Archives. An Institution for Offline and Offline Audiences.” Meanwhile, on the first day of the conference, Maria Drabczyk and her EUScreenXL project partners will hold a workshop titled “EUScreenXL: How to Delight the Eye as Well as the Mind.”

The International Federation of Television Archives (FIAT/IFTA) has been founded in 1977. Today it consists of more than 250 members from all over the world. Some of FIAT/IFTA’ s main objectives are to provide a forum for exchange of knowledge and experience. It encourages and organises local and regional meetings, as well as international conferences and seminars. Every year the FIAT/IFTA Archive Achievement Award is assigned to projects for the best use of audiovisual archive material.
