The Igor Krenz Warsaw Entertainment Orchestra is an informal and oft-changing group of artists associated with the Lado ABC label. It’s a special mission crew. They have performed Beck’s Song Reader album at the OFF Festival, at the NInA headquarters, they have performed a set of main themes from popular Polish television series. Ever since its inception, the WEO has been fascinated Brazilian music: bossa nova, samba, tropicália. Well, even the name of the label itself – Lado ABC– is of Portuguese extraction.
During their final performance at the National Audiovisual Institute, the band will be accompanied by a slate of guests – all of them highly acclaimed musicians: Katarzyna Nosowska, Wojciech Waglewski, Barbara Wrońska, Gaba Kulka, Kuba Ziołek, and the recipient of this year’s Polityka Passport award – Wacław Zimpel.
