Let’s meet up at Służew in Warsaw! About two steps away from the Metro station, you’ll see a building with a very distinct sloping roof, and a red cube in front of the entrance: that’s us! Drop by to watch a movie, see a show, attend a class or just to have a cup of coffee in the café or lounge around on the lawn.
The Archives

In the Archives, you’ll be able to have a closer look at all the audiovisual material collected by NInA, including items that cannot be made available on the Internet due to legal restrictions. The Archives boast around 4,000 video and audio items, all of which are accessible via any one of the 16 terminals furnished with access to the archive’s internal network, a word processor, and an Internet browser. In the future, the Archives will also have free wi-fi access for guests.

The Archives will be opened in June, 2015.

One of our primary duties is to protect and conserve the most vulnerable resources of Polish audiovisual culture. To properly discharge that duty, we employ a line of cutting-edge digitization and digital reconstruction devices. The line is capable of handling professional and non-professional audiovisual formats of video media, including the audio tracks. It also capable of working with the overwhelming majority of magnetic tape media. The video and audio sourced from analog media is later reconstructed to return the films to their original quality.

We have lots of space for culture. We’ll be hosting educational workshops in one of three studios on the second floor: we called them Vinyl, VHS, and MP3. Movie screenings and concerts will take place in the audiovisual auditorium called The Promised Land; the auditorium will be furnished with adaptable seating arrangements and a cutting-edge professional-grade media system enabling us to record the events and stream them online. A spacious conference hall, called Minimax, can be found on the ground floor. That’s where we’ll host events, meetings, and seminars.

All of these spaces were created with you, audiovisual enthusiasts, in mind; But we’re not thinking only about the guests invited to our events, we also want to be of service to cultural animators. If you are a member of an informal organization and would like to host a meeting, a concert, a show, or a workshop class at our space —contact us, we’ll make it work.

The Courtyard

The Courtyard is an open and interactive space where we’ll host open-air concerts, art and community initiatives, and screen movies on the side of a building in the summer.

It’s a tranquil and green place, with small hillocks and modular awning that will allow us to shape the place to fit the needs of each individual event.

The Courtyard will be open to the public in the fall of 2015.
